Pax Christi San Antonio

Pax Christi San Antonio has  regular monthly meetings on  the second Saturday of each month from 10am to noon at the PeaceCenter (1443 South St. Mary’s Street, San Antonio 78210).

Pax Christi San Antonio (PCSA) has been a part of Pax Christi USA for many years.  A handful of local peace activists have been meeting monthly for the past six months to define and focus the activist efforts of our local Pax Christi group.

Each meeting has:  (1) prayer, (2) community-building, (3) recent events individually attended, (4) information about upcoming events, (5) a focus topic, and (6) decisions about group actions.

Activities so far:

  1. attended Pax Christi USA’s Anti-racist Multicultural Workshop in Austin.
  2. Wrote letters to local newspaper and Sarwat Husain supporting her article, “End US Support for Israeli Aggression.”
  3. printed bilingual PCSA business cards.
  4. designed and produced PCSA t-shirts.
  5. co-sponsored and attended local MLK March in January.
  6. shared an inspiring 30 minute dialogue-meeting with 9 members of the Pax Christi USA National Council in San Antonio.

In coming weeks and months PCSA will:

  1. co-sponsor the “Walls Symposium” (2/15-17/09) at Trinity University in San Antonio.  Pax Christi info will be displayed and members will network.
  2. attend presentations by Sister Joan Chittister, osb and Father Richard Rohr, ofm at Madison Square Presbyterian Church on  5/1-5/2/09.
  3. attend a Lenten Mission at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church by Father Ron Rolheiser, omi.
